Governor Nyako needed all the goodwill, cooperation and support..
Former Vice President Atiku
Abubakar has urged all stakeholders in the Adamawa State Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) to unite behind Governor Murtala Nyako who
was re-elected for his second term in office in Saturday's
gubernatorial election.
Reacting to the outcome of
the election in a statement by his Media Office in Abuja, the
former Vice President who cast his vote in Jimeta-Yola said
with the election now concluded, all PDP
members should work together as one family (just like they had done
prior to the election) for the overall progress and development of
Adamawa State.
According to him, they
should put behind them personal bickering and acrimonies and join
hands with Governor Nyako for the advancement of Adamawa
State.
He said Adamawa State is a
classic example of Nigeria's complex ethnic, cultural and religious
diversity, assuring that the nation stands to benefit from the
success that will be achieved in this regard.
For this reason, he pointed
out that Governor Nyako needed all the goodwill, cooperation and
support of all people of Adamawa State in the challenges of
undertaking the task of governance.
While congratulating
Governor Nyako and the PDP in particular the Adamawa State chapter
on Governor Nyako's re-election for a second term in office, Atiku
Abubakar advised him (Nyako) to carry all stakeholders along rather
than isolating or alienating any groups however small.
As Nigeria's rainbow party,
the Turaki Adamawa said the ruling PDP should lead the way in terms
of internal cohesion, unity and harmony, adding that this should be
of the immediate concerns of Governor Nyako.
